“I highly recommend Living Green Elephant — not only because you get incredibly close to these amazing, intelligent, and gentle animals, but also because this center is doing important and meaningful work rescuing elephants. From the moment of booking, everything was perfectly organized. We immediately received detailed information via email and WhatsApp. We ordered a hotel pickup, and the driver arrived exactly on time. The park is about 2 hours outside Bangkok, but the journey is absolutely worth it. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with cold water and a tasty lunch. Our instructor, Lulu, was wonderful — kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He explained the mission of the c...”

“We really enjoyed the activities. We saw lots. The trek was fab with amazing views. However the van we travelled in was awful - the shock absorbers were broken which made for a very very bumpy & uncomfortable journey. This ruined the end of the trip. If the tour provider upgraded the van, I would definitely give it higher rating. I would ask about the van you will be transported in prior to booking this tour.”

Review of Chiang Mai’s Bua Tong Waterfall, elephant sanctuary, and bamboo rafting tour, with practical advice on value, fitness, timing, and ethics.

“We had a great time in the elephant sanctuary with preparing food for them and feeding them and then giving them bath in the river. Our guide Fluke was really knowledgeable and cheerful. We also had an exciting time at the sticky waterfall which was adventurous and must do activity. Then the bamboo boat ride was also good. Just one advice don’t buy beers for the captain of the boats which shopkeepers will insist you to do that. I think there are much better elephant sanctuaries out there so you can explore more options, I deducted 1 star just because of that.”

“Absolutely fantastic experience with little or no impact on the elephants. My wife’s only request of our holiday to Thailand was to see the elephants but in an ethical way hence why we chose this organisation. We were picked up at our hotel on time and travelled to the offices where we were ‘checked in’ and allocated a group, I presume by language before being taken to the sanctuary itself. Here we were warmly greeted, offered a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks, nothing fancy but nice nonetheless. Our guides introduced themselves and we watched a short video presentation about who and what the sanctuary are about. Following…”

The elephants were happy and seemed very well cared for. The temple visit was a must and Mr Suriya gave us good education. This was a great tour I would recommend to anyone.”
